They used to say that opportunity only knocks once. I don't believe that's true. It knocks twice. Usually we don't recognize it the first time it bangs on our door. The question is, is this the first or second time it has knocked for you?
I have been a business owner for over twenty-five years and have made a substantial living doing audio recordings. Yup, I'm one of those "voice-over" guys, doing everything from radio commercials to TV narrations to cartoon voices to messages on telephone hold systems. I also produce a one-minute radio program heard across the country called "The Science
Minute," and broadcast space shuttle launches from the Kennedy Space Center.
About a year to a year and a half ago some aspects of my business started to decline a little (oh, really?) I think something called a "recession" affected it, although I can't be sure. Anyway, we began looking for alternative income streams to make up the difference. A friend told me about a multi-level marketing business she was involved in and while her particular business didn't meet my criteria, I began to investigate this type of marketing concept for my businesses.
During my investigation I looked at over a dozen direct marketing companies. I checked out their products, their management structure, their downline structure and their success
rate. And, one company stood out head and shoulders above all the rest. Because of scheduling problems with a project I was voicing in Orlando, I filed that information away for
future reference. Then one of my clients called me. My client, we'll call him Rick because
that's his name, told me about a multi-level marketing company he had gotten involved with that was changing his life. When he told me what it was, I was already interested. Because of my previous research I knew that his company paid the most residual money out to their reps, paid the most up-front money and had the best product mix (but, of course, I didn't tell him that). Needless to say, I signed up right away.
Then we took the time to investigate the network marketing business stratagies used by all the major companies and individuals in the field so we could utilize the best ideas from each of them. We also created some new and exciting ways to couple those stratagies with the power of the Internet to attract and train new associates all within the strict guidelines of the company. So, this then, becomes a joint venture between you and me... your team and my team... your network. As you add people to your team, we train them the same way you were trained...all the way down the line. It's a very powerful way to create a very winning team.
